PSA’s Derek Riley and Christina Russell summarized system-level strategies for advancing educational equity, based on lessons learned from a learning cohort of 10 districts convened by the Center for Global Education and Asia Society. They identified six strategies for districts seeking to dismantle systemic barriers to create more equitable opportunities: (1) set a clear and explicit vision for equity; (2) ensure that equity is owned at all levels of the system); (3) translate equity into action; (4) build equity capacity for school leaders and staff; (5) ensure equitable access to quality instruction; and (6) enable students and families to thrive, through comprehensive supports.
