ExpandED Schools
Over the first four years of the ExpandED Schools national demonstration, PSA explored the approaches that schools took to adopting and implementing the ExpandED Schools approach, which was grounded in the belief that adding time to the school day through strategic partnerships with community-based organizations can enhance skills and broaden horizons by engaging students in enriched learning opportunities beyond core academics. The evaluation examined the conditions that facilitated or hindered the implementation of an expanded school day, and identified supports and resources necessary to scaling and sustaining an expanded day.
